SAU Orientation Program for 2022 Batch

SAU Orientation Program for 2022 Batch: Sikkim Alpine University under the guidance of the Hon’ble VC, Prof. Ram Kumar Thapa organised the One-Day Orientation Program for its 2022 Batch of Students for both UG & PG Programs. The Program was organised with the objective to familiarise and acquaint the new students with the general system of Higher Education, the Curriculum Framework of diverse Courses, and various cells and bodies of the university and to give them exposure to eclectic perspectives that may help them build better personalities and characters.

The event was highlighted by the presence of eminent guest speakers from different fields. The keynote Speaker, Dr. Manu K. Vora is the Chairman and President of Business Excellence, Inc. USA, Fulbright Specialist U.S. Department of State. He is also an Adjunct Professor, at Illinois Tech, Chicago and Adjunct Faculty at Northwestern University, Chicago. His speech revolved around the importance of Higher Education. He stressed that students should derive a lesson from every new thing they experience – classes, seminars, debates, research, activities, etc. He encouraged students to be mindful of their decisions and be flexible with them as it promotes progress in changing circumstances and determines their future.
The second speaker Shri. Shakti Tiwari, an Advocate, motivated and wished the inducted students in their academic journey.

The third speaker Prof. B. Indrajit Sharma, Head of Department, Physics, Assam University, shared very detailed and exhaustive information with the students regarding the future opportunities PG students can avail of whether it is to opt for a Ph.D., Post Doctorate, Internships both national and international, preparing for National Eligibility Test or to work as teachers in Schools, Colleges and Universities, and so on.
A special mention must be given to the Student Representative, Ms. Karma Choezom, M.A. English, who spoke on behalf of all the senior students about their experiences at the University. She emphasized the growth that they have recognised in themselves whether in terms of the curriculum that they are taught or the extra-curricular activities that they were encouraged to participate from different sports to cultural activities. She encouraged the newly inducted students to look forward to such positive experiences.

The Orientation Program for the batch 2022 – UG and PG was successfully conducted with the attendance of more than 370 participants.
