In a significant step towards strengthening inclusive education and rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities, Sikkim Alpine University (SAU), Namchi, Sikkim, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the National Institute for Locomotor Disabilities (Divyangjan) (NILD), Kolkata, on 24 June 2026.

The collaboration aims to promote academic excellence, research, capacity building, professional training, and the delivery of quality rehabilitation services for persons with disabilities across Sikkim. The partnership is expected to create opportunities for knowledge exchange, joint academic initiatives, faculty development programmes, and community outreach activities focused on inclusive development.

The MoU was signed on behalf of NILD by Dr. Lalit Narayan, Director, NILD Kolkata. The signing ceremony was witnessed by Dr. Ameed Equebal and Alendra Kumar Tripathi.

Representing Sikkim Alpine University, the MoU was signed by Satyam Dixit, Registrar of the University. The witnesses from the University included Dr. Satyendra Kumar Jatav and Pankaj Kumar Choudhary.

Speaking on the occasion, University representatives highlighted that the partnership reflects SAU’s commitment to fostering an inclusive and accessible educational ecosystem aligned with national priorities for disability empowerment and social justice.

The collaboration marks an important milestone in advancing inclusive education, rehabilitation services, research, and skill development initiatives in the North-Eastern region. In a significant step towards strengthening academic and research collaboration, Asian Biological Research Foundation (ABRF) and Sikkim Alpine University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote excellence in higher education, scientific research, innovation, and academic exchange.

The agreement marks the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at promoting academic excellence, cultural exchange, and collaborative research between the two institutions.

Both universities share a common vision of fostering knowledge, innovation, and global engagement. Nehru Gram Bharati (Deemed to be University) is a private, UGC-recognized institution located in Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh.

A Memorandum of Understanding has been established between Sikkim Alpine University and Nehru Gram Bharati (Deemed to be University), Prayagraj, with the objective of promoting academic collaboration and institutional development. This MoU aims to strengthen cooperation in areas such as joint research activities, faculty and student exchange programs, organization of seminars, workshops, and conferences, as well as sharing of academic resources and best practices.
