Quality assurance and quality enhancement support the qualitative growth of higher educational institutions. The establishment of an Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) is a major step towards achieving long-term quality standards and channelising the efforts and measures of the institution towards academic excellence.
The IQAC of Sikkim Alpine University reviews and develops a conscious, regular system of action to improve the teaching-learning process, evaluation procedures, and the quality of students and faculty. For continuous improvement, the IQAC carries out internal audits of the Institute, faculty and staff members.

- Develop a system for conscious, consistent and catalytic action to improve the academic and administrative performance of the institution.
- Promote measures that enhance institutional functioning through an internalised quality culture and the institutionalisation of best practices.

- Develop and apply quality benchmarks and parameters for academic and administrative activities.
- Facilitate a learner-centric environment for quality education and faculty development in participatory teaching and learning.
- Arrange feedback from students, parents and other stakeholders on institutional quality processes.
- Disseminate information on higher education quality parameters.
- Organise inter- and intra-institutional workshops and seminars on quality themes, and promote quality circles.
- Document programmes and activities that lead to quality improvement.
- Act as the nodal agency coordinating quality-related activities, including adoption and dissemination of best practices.
- Develop and maintain an institutional MIS database to maintain and enhance quality.
- Develop a quality culture throughout the institution.
- Prepare the Annual Quality Assurance Report (AQAR) according to NAAC/NBA guidelines and parameters for submission.
