Historic MoU Signed Between Sikkim Alpine University and Lumbini Buddhist University
In a significant step towards strengthening international academic collaboration, Sikkim Alpine University, Namchi, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Lumbini Buddhist University, Nepal, in a formal ceremony attended by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. Sushil Kumar Tiwari, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of Lumbini Buddhist University, along with other dignitaries, academicians, and invited guests.
The agreement marks the beginning of a strategic partnership aimed at promoting academic excellence, cultural exchange, and collaborative research between the two institutions. Both universities share a common vision of fostering knowledge, innovation, and global engagement.
Sikkim Alpine University, known for its commitment to holistic education and innovation, and Lumbini Buddhist University, situated at the birthplace of Lord Buddha and renowned for its focus on peace and Buddhist studies, will collaborate in areas such as faculty and student exchange, joint research initiatives, and the promotion of cultural and heritage studies.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Satyam Dixit, Registrar of Sikkim Alpine University, highlighted that the MoU goes beyond a formal agreement, serving as a bridge for cross-border learning and academic cooperation. He noted that the collaboration is expected to enhance research capabilities, provide global exposure to students, and contribute to sustainable development and cultural understanding.
The partnership will also play a key role in strengthening educational and cultural ties between India and Nepal, reflecting shared heritage and mutual aspirations.
