Dr. Pribat Rai, holds more than 10 years of teaching experience in UG and PG level. He has completed his BA (Hons) in Geography from Darjeeling Govt College, M.Sc in Geography and Resource Management from Mizoram Central University and PhD from Department of Geography, Sikkim Central University.
His Achievements
- He holds the specialization in Traditional Knowledge System, Disaster Management and GIS especially focusing the Eastern Himalaya.
- Rai has cleared two times UGC NET in 2014 and 2016 in Geography and was also awarded ICSSR Doctoral fellow in 2016.
- He is also the recipient of first Himalayan University Consortium Fellow by ICIMOD, Kathmandu, Nepal and was also awarded the UGC Project Fellow from 2013 to 2014 in the major research project.
- He has served as the Coordinator for Darjeeling Block under the project “Jal Abhyaranya”-Spring Rejuvenation Programme for Water Security in 2019.
- Dr. Rai have presented his research papers in more than 6 International and National Seminars / Conferences and he has also organized more than 5 International/National Seminars and Webinars as a chief Convener and Chief Advisor.
- He holds more than 10 research article in International Journals /National Journals and in National Newspaper.
- He has supervised more than 13 M.A Dissertation work and he was also one of the founding member and the first elected President of Sikkim University Geographical Society.
- Rai has also served as the Board of External Examiner and the Spot Evaluator for UG Geography paper, University of North Bengal in 2022.
- He has also worked as the reviewer of the SCOPUS and Web of Science Index International Journal (Journal of Environmental Science and Policy, Jamba: Journal of Disaster Risk Studies).
- Rai is also one of the Review Team member on the ongoing Major Research Project on “Integrated Disaster Risk Reduction” organised and sponsored by Anugyalaya DDSSS, Caritas India, Caritas Germany and NSET, Nepal. He is also the member of Indian Society of Spatial Scientist.
