Sikkim Alpine University Celebrated 76th Independence Day

Sikkim Alpine University celebrated the 76th Independence Day with the hoisting of the National Flag at the campus. Headed by the Registrar, Prof. H. K. Rajput, there was an active participation of the faculties, students and staff. In solidarity with the rest of the nation in celebrating Azaadi ka Amrit Mahotsav, SAU started the day on a patriotic note with the HoI addressing the gathering.

The HoI gave an insightful talk while highlighting the need to be a constructive citizen of the country. This was followed by the faculties of SAU singing Vande Mataram and a cultural presentation of students. Ms. Yangchen Doma Lepcha, faculty of Commerce presented a declamation of ‘Tryst with Destiny ” while poems on patriotic themes were recited by both students and faculties. The day concluded with students, faculties and staff participating in a fun activity facilitated by Ms. Manita Subba, faculty of Sociology.
